Benahavis Town

You can drive or walk from the house. It's sometimes a bit tricky to get parked so it's easier to walk! It's a steep hill going up but once you've had some Sangria, the walk home isn't too bad! It takes about 10 minutes to walk up into the town. When leaving the house turn right and walk up the hill. When you get to the main road turn right again. Within 10 minutes this will lead you into the town. When you get into the main town there are lots of little pedestrian roads for you to explore!

There are many good restaurants in Benahavis but if you are looking for a special occasion restaurant, you should seriously consider the following:

Amanhavis (Hotel and Restaurant)

Calle de Pilar 3, Benahavis. Tel 952 856 026

Innovative international cuisine, a cosy restaurant in the winter and a beautiful patio in the summer with an imaginative menu that makes the most of local produce. Closed Sunday and Monday nights. Credit cards accepted.

If you fancy a nice breakfast or light lunch (or just a look around!) the Gran Hotel of Benhavis is worth a look. To reach Benahavis Gran Hotel Benahavis, Regidor Hills etc. take the right hand turn at the foot of the village (roundabout contains a fountain shaped like a castle) and follow the road around, or continue uphill to the Sando Inmobiliaria Show house and flags then turn right (downhill). Parking is adequate at the bottom of the village.

Local Swimming Pools/Sports Facilities

Benahavis has its own community pool which is open from the end of May through to the end of September/October from 12 noon to 8pm. There is a small charge (€2/€3) for non residents. The community pool consists of a paddling pool and a large swimming pool surrounded by a grassed area. Some chairs/loungers are available. To find it take the directions to Gran Hotel. When you see the football courts in front of you, turn left (as opposed to right for the hotel). The road is a bit rocky but at the end of the football court turn right and 200 yards up on the right hand side are green gates leading to a car park. This is the entrance to the community pool. There is a snack bar which serves lunch or light snacks and drinks. For more information see:
